I've seen two in my life. One pretty small, and one absolute monster. I've got a pic of the big one somewhere. I'll see if I can find it. Two in one day, consecutive drifts by the same guy is nuts.

We catch one maybe every 1000 rod hours fishing around Icy Strait. You hit the octopus mother lode!

I didn't realize that was so rare. Granted, I've only been out once and seen them caught, but I caught 3 one afternoon and my wife caught one that day as well.

How long do you boil it?

I have the tentacles of two small ones in the freezer, was going to pound them and fry, but boiling and beer is right up my alley.

I go two in one shrimp pot once. I wasn't thinking it was all that cool at the time...

Caught a few nice octopus in pots this year. Skinned, ice glazed and vacuum sealed them. So far they have been very good boiled for 10 minutes with some vinegar in the pot and then finished on the grill basted in my favorite sauce. I might try to boil in beer too, that sounds good.
