    Default burbot near big lake or point mac

    hey i was wondering where would be a good place to try for some burbot this winter preferably near big lake or point mackenze?

    Big Lake , Fig 8 , Flat horn , Red shirt , all have what you want check the regs a little differant in some lakes

    Dont forget about the Susitna river and its tributaries have Burbot as well.

    It's always hit and miss but Big Lake always has a few. The bad thing about Big Lake is no bait during ice fishing. The good news is that the burbot will hit the same lures used to catch the trout and char. Big Lake is also one lake that burbot seem to bite all day on. We do specifically jig lures for them at night and catch a few but it doesnt seem like anymore than during the day with the difference that the char and trout will hit during the day as well.

    Unlike conventional wisdom, I catch the burbot shallow even during the day. Usually in 10 to 15 ft of water.
