    Default Landing strips near Fairbanks

I'm a pretty new pilot with a Citabria 150HP KCAB (no Flaps) w/8.50's. I'm looking for a good landing place to go sheep hunting or Caribou hunting that is not to far from Fairbanks. I've landed off airport once on about a thousand foot strip at a cabin. Any Suggestions?

What he said. "Pretty new pilots" should gain some experience before heading into the sheep mountains. JMO.

There r a couple of old FAA and or Herk strips north and south of Fairbanks. Land there plan on walking 2-3 days into sheep country. For your plane and experience that would be safe enough. B very careful trying to spot sheep in those mountains. There is a very high and real risk of stalling out and getting yourself killed.
