Great fun! Awesome tune up. I wish I was as good a trainer as my dog is talented.

    These are wonderful!

I have friends who do Iditarod and Quest and they say that we'll never know what our dogs are truly capable of because we just can't rise to their level. But it looks like you've gotten that handsome fellow off to a fantastic start, and he'll have a life in the field that very few other dogs will have the same opportunity. Love the photos!

Had about 2 hours of training time on wild birds and got these pics with my phone! I even got pics with both bird and dog in the frame as you can see. Birds were cooperative enough to let me work on the dogs form and walk around until I wanted it to flush and take pics! Great opportunity and we both learned a lot!

Morning Hoyt, I worked him on Come (whistle, hand signal, and voice) kennel, heel, WHOA, and changing directions(whistle and handsignal). Intro to birds and gun fire, salmon fishing and hangin out in the boat! What has really been a team builder is that as soon as he would come on command we do almost everything in the field.

    Capt Bligh at his post!

Nice! Did you pick him up from here in Anchorage or did you fly him up? I know someone who is interested in picking up a ES, but I don't know who to tell her to contact in the local area as I'm into Springers..... Tammy

Tammy, Rigby hails from the upper peninsula of Michigan and I flew him up here. I don't know of any Lewellin Setter breeders up here. I got him from Laurel Mountain Setters.

We have bagged a couple grouse this year but I'm not talented enough to get a pic of him on point and swing the gun. These pics are in a no hunting area where we go after work.

I have a lot more pics since then but, I didn't want to seem like I am bragging. I'll post them if you guys don't mind. Me and Rigby are having some great adventures. You can tell because the grass is never mowed, the truck is always muddy, there are feathers here and there and the Filson vest needs to be hosed down!
