    Default MONSTER Kenai BROWN BEAR reports: POST HERE

    Post successful Kenai Peninsula Brown Bear Hunts Here. Season opens to in only (4) FOUR days, on Sept. 1'st. Please get registered this week, you have Fri. & Sat. to select your monster, then harvest on Sunday or Monday (Labor Day). Season open till May 31'st 2014.

    What caliber rifle is the best for this hunt?

    30-30 Win. My personal round of choice for all big game, especially long distance bear shots.

    i heard you need at least a 700 nitro express and three boxes of ammo to take down these goliths!!! also if you lather yourself in salmon juice and make distress calls of a calf moose your situation of seeig one should greatly improve...please take video if you use this method.

    .17 HMR the .17 WSM is overkill
    I have such a hard time trying to decide which outdoor activity to do every chance I get!! Living in AK is a mental challenge

    Can someone please post a "how-to" for this hunt. I'd prefer a YouTube video with step by step instructions. Please make it the method where the bear falls over into the back of my truck so I can use the lift at work to skin it?

    Here is a HOG, Note the small ears, no neck, the size of the body relative to the head, the deep DEEP swayed back, the belly dragging in the dirt. He is waiting for you on the Kenai Peninsula. Register tomorrow & hunt Sunday.

    If you could provide me with the GPS coordinates of that bear I would be happy to bring my super high power BB gun and dispatch that critter ASAP.

    Not from the Kenai, but here's one we missed seeing by 90 min. For size reference, those are 55 gal drums.
