Thread: 20 mile silvers... portions closed?

Default 20 mile silvers... portions closed?

Anyone know what the latest ADFG about 20 mile means?

"Portions of the Twentymile River and Portage Creeks drainages are now closed to all fishing. These streams are wild silver salmon fisheries with bag limits of only two/day."

    http://www.adfg.alaska.gov/sf/Fishin...ail&area_key=1

    Which portions? Silvers still open?

I have fished 20 mile in the past, it's been a few years. I wish I had a log of my fishing. It seems like it might be late? Anyone fished it? Run timing? Anyone here fishing it?

    Thanks

It's the normal spawning closures, which are shown in red on the map on page 40.

No, I see them in Turnagain Arm every year. Yesterday there was about 30 Belugas swimming up the arm with the tide on the North side. I can see them from the mouth of Six-Mile Creek where I do my daily hike. Today there was about 6 belugas a short ways up the 6-mile creek.
