    Default Packraft rental

I'm heading for a 2 week moose hunt. I'm thinking of a packraft for floating me and meat (hopefully) back out. I've looked at online rentals. They are about $600 for 2 weeks. That seems quite high for a raft that costs about $900.

Does anyone know of longer term rental options?
Or a place to buy used packrafts?

Packraft for moose? I think you're gonna want a bigger boat.
A gun is like a parachute. If you need one, and don’t have one, you’ll probably never need one again

I already have a scanoe. But that is too small for 2 people, gear, and a moose. I was thinking that a packraft could offload me (200 lbs), and one pack (another 100 lbs). Then, the scanoe might work for calmer parts of the river.

    Am I crazy?

Very few packrafts are capable on a moose hunt, just as few most people aren't in the know on their limitations. Sounds like you may have some small craft experience, that may help.

Little late in the year to try and rent mug of anything, really. You could touch base with Larry at Pristine Ventures, I know he's in/out til mid September, but he rents packrafts.
We do not go to the green woods and crystal waters to rough it, we go to smooth it. We get it rough enough at home; in towns and cities; in shops, offices, stores, banks anywhere that we may be placed

You could buy a raft off craigslist and resale it after your hunt.

Mad angler: Just for perspective, we shot two spike fork bulls and floated them out in a single Coleman canoe with two adults and all of our gear. The river was calm and we just hit a few rock and high centers on the way out. A full sized 50+ bull from interior alaska might be another matter though....
