nice job, but i'd like to know where you get a six and a half foot bear with a B&C skull...that bear looks considerably larger than 6.5 foot, let us know what it is if you do tape it out. thats a big head for an average bear! looks like the weather was mint!! lucky...lol nice job.

That is awesome! That last picture is one of the best hunting pictures I've seen posted on our site - a truly satisfied wife, and I can't imagine how excited the husband (you) must have been. Congratulations!

I've seen the pic of your 8' black bear killed on the porch of a cabin..... No doubt you'd think this one would go over 6'6".

I've killed a bear or two, and taped them all......the bean on this bear will likely be shy of 20" when its all said and done. Luck didn't have much to do with it.........

    Brian,
Thanks, it was a great day. She done me proud. She's been after me for a year or better to get her a bear, this one was perfect for a first. She drilled it once in the shoulder and anchored it on a second shot to the base of the neck as it did the kickin chicken on the beach. The video is killer and her excitement through the whole thing was classic.

Will put her on the roster for a few more hunts this year, I think she earned it. <grin>

It must be "a first bear for the wife" thing. My first one was 6'9 with a 20 inch skull. Tell her congrats from me and welcome to the "first bear club!". My photos certainly arent half as good as those. Mine was still kickin when we took the photo....or so it seemed! I feel the excitement again just by reading your post!

Congrats to your wife and to you as well. I looked at my wife the other day and asked if she was ready for her first after my son got his and she looked at me and said "Your crazy!" Seriously , pretty neat to be able to enjoy a hunt like that with your wife, not that I am jealous mine wont go. <grin>

    ak_enviro & KT,

The video was just so outstanding! I'm jealous to have only watched from the boat.

In every way, from great shooting, great bear, great hunter enthusiasm, to great husband/wife interaction, that was a classic hunt that can never be beat.

You two, IMHO, have set the bar so high, it may never be equaled in my lifetime.

    My view...

Congrats to you and the wife! That is an awesome bear! My fiancee just shot her first black on Sunday evening. It squares 7' 1/2". 18 1/16" skull. I don't know how to post pictures otherwise I would.

    Congrats to Huntress too!
