I'm got to Alaska last year just after duck season which coincidentally right before duck season opened back home so its been 2 years since I've got to hunt and I am feigning! I was wondering if some of y'all might help point me in the right direction, one hunter to another. Thanks in advance for any help yall might give me, also if anyone wants to go hunting I would certainly be up for it especially on the weekends. Im stationed at JBER so Im looking for places between Seward/ Homer and Willow ideally!

Palmer Hay Flats is where most of us started. Now that they have the new parking area's and 4x4 trails it will be a breeze. Don

Lots and lots of information on this forum, look back at last sept and oct and get lots of ideas. so much to choose from, depends a lot on how deep your pockets are, how far you want to travel, you physical ability, what equipment you have (boats, etc). Don't expect duck hunting up here like the prime areas in the lower 48. yes, we have good days if we work for them, and learn the area and techniques, but lots of bad days also, and even if the season ends in mid december, don't plan on doing a lot of hunting much past mid oct, perhaps even sooner, depending on freeze up. Good luck. Bud

give me a shout, I've got two excellent duck hunting spots I'd disclose to you. Neither gets traffic, so you have to promise to keep your trap shut! Thanks for your service bro.

No boat needed, but you can only get your toyota about half-way...
If cave men had been trophy hunters the Wooly Mammoth would be alive today
