    Default Sheep Opening Day

Good luck to all of the Sheep hunters who will have a restless night in the mountains tonight on the eve of the Sheep season opening day.

Indeed. I was supposed to be out there as well, but some issues at home beyond our control forced a delay. Given the weather, I'm not so sure that I missed any scouting time in my intended locale. We'll be heading out in the morning, so as long as nobody else is already in our area (a very real possibility, of course), our opening day will just get started a little later than intended.

Good luck to all - and not just the sheep hunters, either. Tomorrow is opening day for caribou, archery moose, grizzly bears, grouse, and ptarmigan. Go get 'em, folks!

Geeez Dave, didn't know you were gonna provide a play by play from the tent. I may have to take off work for this one!!! Best of luck to you and all the sheep hunters.

Wow. "Live Hunt" has come to Alaska. It a new age. Crazy.

Good luck tomorrow Bear. I'm headed out tomorrow at 5:00 am for a backpack caribou hunt. It's now officially my favorite time of year.

Chugach carries phone reception in several at elevation.
We do not go to the green woods and crystal waters to rough it, we go to smooth it. We get it rough enough at home; in towns and cities; in shops, offices, stores, banks anywhere that we may be placed

I'm stuck spending sheep hunting eve at the house this year, but heading out early in the morning. Meanwhile I'm trying to get anything unecessary out of my pack. I've gotten it down to 50 pounds, so I think I'm good. Good luck everybody, can't wait to read the stories when I get back, hopefully I'll have one of my own this year.
