    Default Concrete forming tubes

Wondering what is the determining factor that decides what diameter sized concrete forming tube to use? It will be a 16 x 26 cabin.

How many floors? What type of soil? In well-drained, undisturbed, gravelly soils, you could get away with a 8" tube with light reinforcement for a 1-story cabin. With heavy clays, loose fill, or more floors, diameter and reinforcement (rebar) needs to increase. Of course, many people just underbuild their foundation and cross their fingers, lol

You missed one - how many tubes do you plan to use?

Where are you doing this? You may not have a choice in this if you will be getting an inspection. Get a engineer to give you some idea on the number and size of sauna tubes you should use for the size of the structure you plan to build. Depth will be a factor as well.

Just thinking here, is there any reason no one has talked about the "elephant foot" foundation form? if the ground is decent less digging with a bigger footprint. I have decided in my neck of the woods never to bury foundations again. Just asking cause I like the idea.
