    Default "Last Chance" on Kenai

For those familiar with floating the upper Kenai, what do folks mean by "Last Chance" between Sportsmans and Jim?

    Thanks,

It's the island just across and up from the pull out at Jims.

I don't know, but the "rub and tug" down in Kenai got shut down.

The island across and up from Jim's boat launch is Jim's Island. Last Chance is the gravel bar before you get to Jim's Island on river right and is below 100%. Below the gravel bar is a soft water pocket where lots of Salmon hold.

I didn't know where it was either until now. Do they call it "Last Chance" because the river really starts to pick up speed right after the big hard right hand turn just below Jim's.

I used to hunt across from Jims, and almost got swept down that hard right when coming back across with a half inflated raft and a lot of weight to boot. You can bet we were paddlin' for all we were worth...!!!.......lol
Sheep hunting...... the pain goes away, but the stupidity remains...!!!
