    Default Rex Trail question

Having lived in Barrow for 6 1/2 years of my 7.5 in Alaska I'm not familiar with many of the areas down here yet. Not trying to get secret info from anyone, just wondering if the Rex Trail going east from the Parks is drivable with a four wheel drive (Expedition)?
    thanks,

In general, no it is not driveable for an automobile type rig. Quite a few wet/mucky spots. Google Rex Trail. Should find plenty of info.

    MT,

I would say it isn't even driveable for a regular ATV. Friend and I tried to go back in there 7 years ago and made it 3 miles in 3 hours. Once we winched out of the lake area, we turned around and headed back to the road. Too many swamp buggies using that area and the holes were deep.

Im pretty sure it is closed to all who do not attain a permit to cross on the trail. And the permit is pricey and has a lot of stipulations such as trackes and pounds per square inch weight limits. It is definatly not worht your time and money for hunting IMO.
Trying to play enough to make working for the money all worth it.
