Thread: Seward Campgrounds

    Default Seward Campgrounds

With the closure of the military campground last year, how has this impacted the other campgrounds in Seward? Are they full during the weekdays? I am sure that they are packed on the weekends now that the silvers are starting to show up, just glad that I am not a weekend warrior.

I went to Seward a few times earlier in the year when the reds were in thick. Finding a spot at either the downtown waterfront campground or the one on the other side of town was not a problem, and that was on weekends. Midweek - I think you should be fine. If you go and they're full though, please don't send me a nastygram

I believe it was only the Air Force side that closed down. Believe the Army is still in operation...

The fish house on the Army side has been overwhelmed. They now charge more for use. They charge by the fish. They've already come up with the policy for next year that if you're not a guest, you cannot use the fish house.

I'm not sure how the Air Force side closure has affected RV space availability on the Army side, but I was there on a Tuesday, and it was full.

Hey guys thanks for all the info, planning to go down on Monday and hoping to stay at the Forest Acres campground. Just was wondering if the one military campground that was closed last year had impacted the city campgrounds more than normal. Sorry that I was so vague. And NO I will not send out any nasty grams....I am just looking for info and all of your help is appreciated. Thanks again!!!
