    Default Mogas use?

Who uses mogas instead of avgas? I would love to but, fly at high altitudes and don't want that kind of variable at 14.5K. Also all the auto Fuel in CO is full of ethanol. What is the availability of pure auto gas in AK? Its a considerable price difference From 3.89gal mogas to 6.04gal avgas here in backwater CO.

My brother's O-320 loves it. Great reliability, 6.5-7 GPH at cruise, no more leaded up spark plugs, and $4.20 vs $8.00 plus.

I think that that Lycoming originally ran on 80 octane?

STC has paid for itself several times over.

We are lucky in that there is no ethanol in Alaska!

I ran some mogas in a 150hp cub for about 1000 hrs. Worked great until i had 4 bad cylinders. Rings were sharp on the edges cylinder bores wore out some cylinders cracked. Shop asked me if I used mogas. I saved $4-5000 in fuel. I spent $4-5000 in new cylinders. Went back to 100 LL never looked back.

I run a mogas in my 0235 Champ, especially in winter. It seems to start better in the cold weather than 100LL and since I am using an "Armstrong" starter that is important to me.
