    Question Bird Creek Silvers

Has anyone been to Bird Creek this week? I was wondering if the Silvers are coming in yet.

What is the best way to catch silver, fly's or spinners?

Was wondering about a report myself, I'll be back down in Anchorage on Sunday. I've caught them on fly's at low and incoming tide, and spinners at high tide. I think what you use will depend upon the tides. Bring both, IMO.

You know your not catching any fish when you start talking about the weather...

Spinners and spoons at the mouth while high tide is rushing in is the best in my opinion. #5/#6 Kodiak Custom spinners in natural colors and 3-4" spoons such as Pixie's in lighter colors like chartreuse and green tend to get it done. If you read the tide times for Anchorage you will be of b a couple hours there. Beat the tide and be ready. Cast straight across and let the lure fall to near bottom with a slow retrieve...Silvers don't like bright light and tend to stay near the bottom and the bank.

Yes, multiple hooks and bait are allowed.
Your bait stinks and your boat is ugly

Twitching marabou jigs produced pinks, chums, and silvers yesterday for my guests. At bird cr yesterday.

Was on Bird Creek Saturday 7/25/2015 about 1.5 hours before high tide. Fished couple hours. Hooked 4 silvers on flys, landed 2. Hooked/lost Chum. Son caught pinks on lure and fly (up near upstream marker). Others were catching some. Spinners didn't work for us.
