    Default Copper River Chinook (Mis)Management

How is it that F&G can continually administratively reallocate 100 percent of the king salmon to the commercial fleet?

Does anyone have any ideas for a solution to this problem???you are not going to find the answerwith the com. At the mouth of the copper...the answer may have to come from the high seas ...somehow we need to find outwhere the kings are going and who is or what is happening to them before they get to the mouth...the only thing I can think of is widening the king closure area ...u might make it illegal to use landing net for kings...or to have one on a boat...fishing in bristol bay during red season the only way u caught kings was as the net was coming up and you saw a king in the net

Cont..u would yell out king then the closest person would grab the landing net and put it under the king they would almost always fall out of the drift net and if u had one into the landing net.u are not going to gill them with the net size your using for reds ....what usually happens they get hung up by there teeth....if u let them drop off im not sure what the survival rate would be....? The main reason u just can't stop the com. At the mouth to let kings get by is the risk is too great to hurt the sockeye with over escapement.

They are targeting kings. You don't accidentally catch over 3,000 in a single 12-hour opening.

Does anyone know what mesh size they use? If they targeted kings the mesh would be so large that the sockeye would go threw.? They also got 300,000 sockeye in one 12 hour opener
