Thread: Willow Creek

    Default Willow Creek

Floated the Willow yesterday. It was a nice day. Hooked into some nice bows. Nothing huge, but they were sure pretty. I took my 1-man cat with me. I don't like to take my big raft on the Willow because there are too many sweepers, logjams, and debris.

Here is a pretty nice bow I picked up that was hanging around a hole with a bunch of kings.
I was surprised by all the debris along the river. There was junk from houses that washed away from a flood. I am assuming it was from a flood this spring, but not sure. There was junk all over the place. I even found an outhouse laying over on it's side. If you take a float watch out for broken glass, sheets of plywood all over the river with nails sticking out etc. Here is someone's stairs that washed down river that was still in great shape.

Here was another nice bow. I really like the color on this one.

The debris was most likely from the fall. We had a rough fall AND spring.
    Looks like a good time!
I am not against the flippin kenai, since I cannot but suspect it keeps armies of the unworthy from discovering every other stream... ~Paul O'Neil~/~Wyo2AK~
