His knowledge of the weapon is only exceeded by his command of the English language.

Can he claim he didn't know it was loaded? Woops he just put the shell in.

Yes, I expect HE likely could claim he didn't know it was loaded (and be correct in his statement).

It would seem that the guy was concentrating so hard on coming off like he was so knowledgeable, that he completely forgot what he was doing....

    Exclamation Bang!

Too funny . . poor guy . . bet he had to go change his shorts . .

Long time ago, I was sitting in the living room of an old house on Sugar Island, Michigan with a friend. We were waiting for a couple other fellows to get into position for a deer drive before we headed out. Anyway, my friend was sitting in a rocker, cocking and un-cocking an old .44-40 Marlin, lever action. His finger slipped letting down the hammer, the gun was loaded, and the living room wall suffered a bullet hole.

Suspect such things happen in the best of families . .

What "cool feature" was he trying to describe, whereby you hold the trigger down and jack a round into the chamber? Seriously, was there supposed to be some kind of safety mechanism whereby if you load one with finger on the trigger it doesn't go off?

I did note that after the weapon went off, that was the only time his eyelids completely opened <grin>.

2 things that seemed overly odd to me:

    1. As mentioned, pretty sure that was a 20 gauge shell. I guess there could be yellow 12 guage shells out there somewhere but I have never seen one.
    2. He never looks up to see what was shot and we don't see any evidence of an impact. This doesn't mean or prove anything but I just thought it was odd that he never looks and we don't see any ceiling bits falling down.

Color don't really tell what guage a shell is. May well be a 20ga. gun who knows.

I'm laughing so hard that I have tears in my eyes...and IOTT's comment about this guy's superior command of the English language is killing me!!!

Homo sapien really is a highly over-rated species!! There aren't enough prospective gun laws in the universe to protect us from ourselves.

    Thanks for sharing it 4merguide!

Mine too, in fact all three of them. I always figured it was a standard feature.

Long ago. I had a hunting pard that reminds me of him. Notice I say HAD. Over the span of three years, this guy had two AD's, and was always casual with his muzzle. We're still friends, but there's no way in the universe I'll ever be near him again with guns. Period.
