Default Kotzebue - anybody hunt out of there before?

Planning a once-in-a-lifetime trip next fall to hunt for caribou out of Kotzebue. There is a ton of info on the web about various flight services that can drop you into different areas for a week or so, but a lot of the "reviews" of the different companies that I have managed to find are at least a few years old. I was wondering if any one on this site has been up there in the last year or two and might have any recommendations on which air charter services to go with (or stay away from). Thanks a lot, MIT

Fly with golden eagle aviation. I've had a lot of dealings with them over the last few years and they are great and really good pilots. Caribou hunting up there can be awesome.

Northwest Aviation is very well known and regarded, and Ive flown all over this region over the years without a hitch.

I'm flying out with them this August, hopefully I'll have the same experience.

Eric Sie has his own biz now. Not sure what his biz name is. Also Lee's Sea Air does some off airport drops I think.

Eric, golden eagles pilot? I'd fly with him anytime. If you find out his biz name post it please. I am taking a year off from Kotzebue but plan on going back next season

Eric Seih is one of the best, so you have options.

Good to hear hes working for himself.

Eric is supposedly working out of the old Hageland building that Golden Eagle bought, but he has his own biz and name. He is operating (maybe) as Backcountry Air.

I have flown with and would highy reccomend Golden Eagle. Jared treated me fantastic during my trip, but I also saw how they treated others that came through, and it was equally well. Jesse along with the rest of the staff are as good as it gets. It would be my first choice for sure. I met many happy folks that passed through.

Another recommendation for NW Aviation-we've flown with them for the past 5 years-very professional and knowledgible

You will have a hard time finding better guys than Eric and Jarred. They are great pilots and like to hunt and see other hunters do well.
