    Default East Fork Chena

Does anyone have experience on the East Fork / Middle Fork of the Chena? I'm looking at a late September float.

    thx,

That's what I was afraid of. I'm looking for a late season area for moose (Sept 25-30), which is bow hunt. I was hoping it would quiet down. I was thinking of portaging or motoring upstream a few miles. Thoughts?

I'd scout or out a good slough or oxbow and go for it.

I hunted it one year in early September about halfway between Munson creek and van curlers bar. A lot of traffic below our camp but little above that. I did not see anything that would make me want to keep it a secret but a few moose do get taken from there every year. I have heard that the area is much better during the archery only season. I will have to try that someday.
