    Question Walk-in for sheep?

I don't want anyone's favorite huntin' spot, but I'd like some ideas as to where I can take my 14 year old son sheep hunting this fall. I was disappointed (to say the least) to read (yesterday) about parts of Nabesna being closed to ATV's.

I'd like to find an area that is 5-7 miles, and no more than 9-10 one way to sheep hunt. Any suggestions for places to try? I was thinking Resurrection (N and S of the Sterling), or some of the trails off of the Seward highway. Any ideas?

I don't know if it's still open but Lost Lake trail would be a good place to take your son, go all the way to the end of the trail where the sign is and camp there. It's about a 12 mile ride by wheeler off of the Nabesna road. Stop and get your permits before going down to the trail, we didn't know about the permits until we got to the trailhead..........it was a long drive back to the ranger station.

Brooks Range. From the south side of Atigun pass east or west your choice. From the north side going east is rough and straight up for the most part, going west of the West Fork Atigun puts you in sheep country.

Thanks for the ideas. I'm looking for something to do since they closed Tanada to wheelers.
