Default Placer Overflow Conditions and Recommendations?

    Folks,

I've never been up the Placer Overflow, but I heard you can take a canoe up during high tide. Is this true? Any surprises I should be aware of?

I don't have a canoe, but a 10' row boat that I was planning to row upstream during high tide. Any thoughts on whether this is a good idea?

I'd appreciate any information you can share.

    Best,
    Ron

Depending on the flow you may not get very far. I tried kayaking up it a few years ago during high runoff and only made it about 1 mile.
