Default Kenai Peninsula Lakes Boating Regulations

Does anyone know where I can find the boating restrictions for the Kenai Peninsula lakes? I have a new 20 HP 4-Stroke and would like to put it in some of the lakes around Soldotna, to begin the break in process, but cannot find any current regulations. I have found this motorized use areas chart from 2009, Link: http://www.dnr.alaska.gov/parks/boat...ctions2009.pdf

Will I legally be able to run the 20 HP 4-Stroke in Longmere Lake?

I couldnt find the information I needed earlier in the year about lakes in that ares. So, I called ADFG in Soldotna (907) 262-2737 and got my answer right away.

I read what you posted info as no motorized, and since your lake in not listed it will fall into the "all" catagory of "no Motor"

The question and answer can change if you see other power boaters on the longmere.

Yes longmere does allow outboard motors.
Just be aware it is a floatplane lake and there are commercial floatplane services on the lake that take off each morning and return in the evenings. There could be planes landing/taking off at anytime of the day though. Just a heads up.
There can be some good trout fishing in the lake and it does get stocked annually.

Dolly Varden, Hidden, Tustumena (beware!)... Stormy used to be good but is closed still, Centennial, Kelley and Peterson are OK too. Watson is legal but weedy.

Sport lake and Spirit are also good. Spirit has only a dirt ramp but it works good you just have to back down the hill.
Sport lake is smaller but has a nice ramp. Island lake out north is also a good one with a decent ramp.

The main difference between Longmere Lake and Big Lake ....... is the location.
