    Default Skunk Question

So as I posted a little while ago, I just bought my first traps. Last night was the first time I set one. On my first trap ever, I caught a skunk. When I walked up to it, I didn't smell anything. Then when I picked it up, I could tell there was still a lingering odor is skunk-spray. I am curious, how do I get the smell off of the pelt. Since this is my jest ever trap, I would like I keep the pelt.. But I don't want everything to start smelling like spray.

I read about peroxide/baking soda, should I skin it first? I was hoping there would be a way to soak it to remove the smell, then skin it. Any thoughts are appreciated!

Are you keeping it? I killed dozens of skunks as a teenager, but never wanted to rug one. Saved a raccon once.

Think about washing it with ivory laundry soap, I think it works much better than the infamous tomato juice bath.
