Default Grayling Love 22 June 2013

Took my nephew (visiting from TN) out to find some grayling. He never fly fished before and it took him a little to get a basic cast out, but in 20 minutes he had a beast of a grayling taking his dry fly (blue dunn).

Turned out to be an epic day of fishing:

Good on you Jedi for taking your nephew out to teach him how to fish. Not only are you helping to pass the torch to the next generation, but you now will have a fishing friend for life. Those blue dunns really are the ticket aren't they?

He has had a great adventure this last 3 weeks, yes I swear by the blue dunn for grayling.

Nice fish! How old is the nephew? Watching kids catch fish makes all the time spent rigging them up worth it.

Was that on the Upper chena? Looks like the water has really cleared up since about 2 weeks ago when I was up there.

    Totaly agree!

He is sixteen, His Mom passed away this last August. It was a really special trip, so stoked he caught 8 different species of fish and we put over 2000 miles on the trek.

Great looking fish Jedi. I'm betting it was the Delta Clearwater. They don't grow em that big (usually) in the Chena.
