    Default Throw nets

Are these legal for any fish here? I was dipping for hooligan a couple weeks ago and thought it made me think about my old bait throw net that's collecting dust in my garage.

My guess is you need to call ADF&G.
They used to not be legal as the net needed a rigid handle. They may have changed it though.

New 2015 online regs says something about cast nets vs other methods. Wasn't as clear before.

Really? I never knew it was legal for herring. I've always wanted to toss mine near the rocks In Whittier. Might have to look that up myself and see if I remember how to throw that net again

I wrote the proposal and it was passed a couple years ago. This was the first year I got to take advantage of it.

Cast nets may only be used in Kachemak Bay east of line from Anchor Point to Point Pogibshi. They are prohibited everywhere else.

Somebody needs to put a proposal in the statewide agenda.

Good to know! My cast net hasn't seen scales since catching shad for catfish
