    Default Sockeye in the salt

Any tips on catching sockeye in the salt other than snagging?

Check out the articles at salmon university online. Lot of them caught in Washington, BC and SE AK while trolling.

Trolling plain red or black painted 3/0 hooks behind a chrome dodger is how they do it in WA.

I have done very well with small Buzz Bombs in Cook Inlet! The reds will hit them if fished like recommended on the package. I would stand on the flying bridge and cast to jumpers it's a blast. Good luck

Slow, dead slow use a squirt sized hootchie, Pink, Red or occasionally Glo.

Short leaders as short as 18" although I prefer 23".

Dummy flashers-some people say using just one close to the wire is more effective-colour seems to not matter.

Glo Squirt Chartreuse Flasher is what I usually start with.
