When I played football in school I never understood the piling on phenomenon. The guy is down. Piling on just prolongs the delay. Let's get the next play going. I want to hit somebody who is trying to move the ball, not jump on a pile of bodies when the fun is over.

Does piling on feel good? I'm just trying to understand here.

Not exactly a mauling, more like a difference of opinion about who the barbeque belonged to and the bear got his point across and the guy got a few scrapes. Argument between friends. Happens all the time!

At the time, it was a good idea to give the bear the food. If you came face to face with a bear do you want it to be a hungry bear? Granted, he should have had more food.

You can't expect a drunk to think of everything. LOL

What is there to understand? We are pointing out the obvious, that a fool commited a foolish act and is being mocked accordingly. Piling on? Hardly. If we were piling on we would hand the fool more beer and BBQ and point him to nearest bruin.

Repeatedly. In gang fashion. The guy had too much to drink and did something stupid. I think I caught that in the first post, but if you'd like, I'll thank you for your elaboration. I really did find something more from it, but not about him.

From your contribution I'll assume that you never did or said something stupid after having too much to drink. I commend you, sir.

You carry on being judgemental and self-righteous since it suits you so well, meanwhile, I will watch from the bleachers the act of a fool.

You go on and continue to ASSume as you see fit.

Or maybe it was so good the bear just wanted more.

Or maybe it was the bears way of saying, "Seriously? You're out of beer?".
