Default Fishing off beach of Knik Arm at Birchwood ?

Has anyone fished off the surf or beach behind Birchwood Airport ?
Is it fishable or not ?

Not sure. I do know that in August the silvers come up Peters Creek, it's concievable that there may be fish to be caught at the mouth/where it dumps into Knik Arm.

I would be careful, there is a gun range right there.

Oh you are correct Kenaibow - the Birchwood Shooting Range is on the beach !
No wonder there are no anglers there - probably a good Darwin reason.....

You could probably fish it, but the odds of catching anything would be extremely low. Also the bluffs are constantly sluffing off and you have the issue of silt aka quicksand.

With ~ 1/2 the states population around upper cook inlet there is a good reason you never see anyone fishing in the surf, it's just not productive.
Those that are successful in Alaska are those who are flexible, and allow the reality of life in Alaska to shape their dreams, vs. trying to force their dreams on the reality of Alaska.

If you have a tenuous grasp of reality, Alaska is not for you.
