    Default Deal on Suspension Seats

I bought my Smooth Move seats on Amazon a couple years ago. They have them again and it's free shipping. It's just the suspension bracket. It does not come with the seat.

I bought a pair off Craigslist. I upgraded to the new 4 spring set up, which they come with now. I think they are the best thing for the money, that I have bought for the boat. Well worth the money.

Is there a way to change the old setup the the new 4 spring? What's the advantage? Got any pics of it? And yes, the smooth move seats are awesome.

I talked to SmoothMoves and asked about getting heavier springs. I told him I had the 2 single springs. He told me that the old double springs were breaking, so they went to a four spring system. I was able to purchase the new springs for around $20 per seat. He told me he weighed about 350 and the seats worked great for him. Changing the springs were not too bad to do. I used a long pair of needle nose pliers, a set of safety wire pliers, a pry bar and .040 safety wire. ( it is good to have tools.) backed the tension off all the way and wiggled/jiggled the old springs out and reversed procedure with new springs. Took about 10 minutes per seat. My seats were not mounted yet.

OK. Thanks for the info. I haven't had any issues with mine, but I'm sure it couldn't hurt to have the newer setup.

I replaced my 1 spring setup with a heavier spring a few years ago - great change, and easy to do. Bought them from Alaska Spring. I'm not a little guy (6'4", 255), and I no longer bottom out the seat.

I just put in my new Smooth Moves suspension brackets that I ordered from Amazon a few months back (free shipping!). My old seats were on lockers, so I modified their mounting system to put them on the lockers. Really, all I did was drill new holes in the top of the lockers and mount the suspension bracket right to it. Works like a charm! ImageUploadedByTapatalk1371526728.256742.jpg

Glad to see you took advantage of the deal too. You can't beat that price for suspension seats.
