Default Where are the salmon at?

A buddy of mine told me he has heard reports that kings and pinks are schooling and getting ready to make the runs. Can anyone confirm and If so where does it look like they are hitting first?

It's way early for pinks - the first pinks don't hit freshwater until early July, and the best pink fishing isn't until late July and into August. As for kings, this is generally the time of year when king runs start returning, but things are pretty dismal statewide. Many rivers have either been completely shut down or severely restricted in both time and gear options.

I'm not sure what report your buddy heard, but it doesn't seem to fit with the general observations.

    Your too polite Brian...

OP, your buddy trying to sell you a boat or fishing gear?

There are no kings left, there are no silvers left, the first fishable numbers will be reds on the Kenai in mid-July and Valdez pinks in late-July... Ok maybe bird creek Chums in July?
