    Default Parks Creeks & Kasilof

    Hey all,

Just spent some time on the Willow yesterday. Pretty high and dirty not very fishable.

Anyone have any recommendations for the Kasilof? I was hoping to swing for trout/chromers. Thanks.

    AFG.

I agree about the Willow, the only good place to fish it right now is right at the confluence with the Su. The 'bows haven't moved up yet and seem to be just sitting waiting for fry to wash out of the Willow. Thanks to the muddy quality of the water right now, it's good when it's sunny and slow when it's overcast. Caught this one on the 20th.

PS When I was there I saw a guy pull out a 25" 'bow that looked like it had to weigh 6-7 pounds.

Do you have a drift boat or a raft of some kind?
There are some spots on the kasilof that are good this time of year if you do.
With the exception of private lands you only really have three areas of the Kasilof to bank fish that are public.
Slackwater up by the boat launch that acceses Tustumena Lake. The boat ramp area at the bridge and them there is the Peoples hole off of north Coho loop.
The beach at the mouth is public as well but not really fly fishing waters.
There have been a few fly fishermen on the upper accessing it via driftboat. Couldn't tell you how they did but they were there the other day as I drove in to my dads house to work on my saltwater boat. I need to get my driftboat out this week sometime and get it ready to go.
