Tomorrow will be installing a furuno radar on an aluminum radar arch along with a vhf & possibly am/fm radio antenna's on opposite ends of the arch. I was planning on drilling holes into the legs of the arch to route the power & data cables down thru the rooftop of the boat. The furuno directions advise against routing the cables parallel or with cables of other electronics. I have a 24' Hewescraft and have seen boats where all of the cables for GPS antennas, vhf/radio, and radar cables come thru the cabin roof at the same location.
Not sure how to otherwise install the unit without putting more holes in the boat; have you guys experienced problems with running all power/antenna cables from different components together?
