    Default SL-5 Tent Sealer

I purchased a Golite SL-5 tent, what product would you recommend sealing the tent with?

I haven't done it yet but I am going to use the mineral spirit and silicone mix

I just got one too but haven't done any sealing yet. However, I have tried to read up on the SL5 and other shelters of the like and it was suggested to use the product below. Apparently it flows better and is cheaper. If you Google permatex and seam sealing you should get some hits. Keep us updated on how it goes as I will be interested for whenever I feel the need to do it myself.

Haven't heard of that one, wouldn't the MS adversely affect the fabric?

My understanding is that it golite recommends Silnet. I just purchased a Sl-5 but my hunting partner took mine on a week long Kodiak Brown Bear hunt so i have not dealt with sealing it yet. Good news is they had 45 mph winds and rain and the tent did great no leaks and it held up against the wind beautifully. I know many people do not seam seal their SLs but have heard mixed reviews so I will probably seal for insurance.

I sealed mine with silnet that I thinned with mineral spirits to make it spread much easier. Worked like a champ.
