Default 2013 surfcast forum get together?

So it came up on another thread that some of our forum members may be interested in a get together on one of our popular surfcast fishing beaches sometime this summer.
Possibly in the July time frame when some of these members may be down for dipnet season anyway.
I figured we could discuss some dates and times on this thread.
Maybe one or more of us could bring a BBQ or have a beach bonfire of sorts with some cold refreshments?
We could discuss surfcast fishing and get to know some forum friends we may have not met before.
I could make up some surfcast weights for everybody to try out.
What do you fellow forum surfcasters think?
Other would be welcome to attend as well even if they don't have true surfcast gear.
Lets get some dates set up and see who is interested.

Unfortunately for me I'm away from home again for the summer and can't make it. But, fortunately, I am yet in another grand Alaska place!

I'd love to get together. I have ZERO experience (just moved up from the desert) but love to learn if you guys are willing to teach! I'm in Kenai now but moving to south soldotna/kasilof area next month.

Where are the good surf casting beaches might I ask?

If you have it on Kodiak, I'm in for sure!
Experience is a hard teacher because you get the test first and the lesson afterwards.

I will be down there the week of July 15, but will be with family and I'm not sure I can break away. I would not mind a separate trip down though. Float some dates and I'll check it out! Maybe the 14th? Might be better fishing then, without so many salmon carcasses in the area?

Looking for more intel for our Surf Fishing Page, if any of you care to critique it or tweak it? We could put some video on there too, if it's instructional.

Most people fish the Kasilof south beach or the Kenai north and south beaches.
Forum member cod seems to have found some good beaches further south but the Kenai and Kasilof beaches should be a good start for you.
Also off of lands end in Homer is a sure fire bet for all kinds of species.

I am stuck on the slope until July 16th so somewhere in the two weeks after that would be good for me.
Even just a few hours in the evening works good for me.

You're the man kasilofchrisn, thanks for the info! Now to just read over the info in your other thread and try to make it make sense I am going to be swamped at work until probably October but I get off work by 630pm so evenings are best for me. I have Wednesday and Thursday off now but I likely won't have a set schedule soon
