    Default Bears from a boat?

Can you legally shoot a black bear from a boat in pws? I've heard different answers from different people and can't seem to find it in the regs.

The short answer is NO, not in 6 D.

Once upon a time it was legal to do so. I cannot remember exactly when that changed, maybe 10+- years ago?

Brown bears are still legal from a boat in 6D though.

Do your homework, and you'll find out that yes you can in 6D. All I am gonna say on that. Shouldn't be saying that much really. Take me on your boat fishing sometime in the summer, or if I end up rideless on a weekend for a bear hunt, and I'll spill the beans. Currently kinda booked, but always good to have a back up plan. Or buy my ruger 10mm and I'll hook ya up with some great info. I am seriously choking myself to keep my hands from typing any more info!

BUT! Otherwise the answer is NO! Disability thing is correct, but 6D about 10 years ago stopped shooting black from the boat. Deer are still legal though. Only exception is what I am talking about above^^^^^ Never would I publically share that info on a forum.

Unless you are disabled...that is the only way. It actually says NOT to shoot Black bears from a boat in unit 6D about five times in the regs. You cant get any more black and white than that.

Technically you wouldn't be in 6D, but still PWS. Only 1 spot.

Yup. I know exactly where you are talking about, but not 6D. Not very exciting whacking one from the boat anyways.

Only 1 Spot? The way I read the regs the only place you can't shoot bears from a boat is units 1-5 and 6D

Why would you want to shoot from a boat?.....get out down wind on the beach and hunt them....it's really not that hard

Well, spoiled one knows about it. Study the regs, you'll eventually figure it out. Helps to if you go to F&G, but don't talk to anyone, hmm, kinda like a riddle now!

Because it's different, not all that easy if ya try and get close. I have never killed one from a boat, but back in the day it's how a lot of guys did it, when it was legal in 6D.
