    Default Free bear skinning

I have learned a lot from forum members here. It is my turn to give back. I don't have the time to devote to spring bear hunting for myself this year, but I can spare some time to help someone learn how to skin a bear.

I will demonstrate proper cuts and how to turn lips, ears, and pull toes.

I will also demonstrate how to quarter/salvage all the required meat off the bear.

You will have to provide the bear. I can skin the bear at my place in North Pole

If you are interested in learning, and don't have a bear, PM me your phone number and I will call you when another person has a bear to skin.

If you are interested in this free service; PM me, and I will send you my phone number. Call me when you have your bear down and when we can meet to provide the class. I will then call others who want to learn.

Good luck and happy hunting. Rod

You guys rock! I try and help out people also when they need help. It tears me up to see someone do their first bear and mess up a good hide. Its always rewarding to help someone out on their first attempt and see a big smile at the end!

    Hoyt,

I wish I could make the trip to Anchorage tonight. Let me know of any future times doing this. Would love to learn how to go about it.

I suspect any day now they will be coming in daily or a few a week.. Problem is I wont know the condition till I get em. .last night 2 guys stopped by, but then the bear came in with the head still froze.. about 9 pm last night it was thawed enough and I knocked it out, but obviously the folks had left for another time..

    Thanks for the reps guys.

I have a person who has volunteered two frozen bear hides for the demonstration. I would not be able to demonstrate skinning, but I could demonstrate turning lips, ears, removing toes and fleshing. I could do this any night next week. PM me if you are interested.

My offer for a whole bear still stands as well.

I plan to finish two bear hides this Thursday (16 May) at 6:00PM at my house. The gentleman has offered to let folks practice on his hides, since he is only tanning the hides and not mounting them.

PM me if you want to attend, and I will give directions to my house.

    I live in North Pole.
