    Default Pybus and Gambier Bay

My family and I are renting a 38ft. boat out of Auke Bay the 2nd week of August. We plan to head south along the east coast of Admirality island as far as Pybus Bay.
Thanks to this forum I have learned what kind of gear we need to fish for salmon and halibut - now I just need to know where to start!
Does anyone out there know if there are any salmon runs in Gambier or Pybus Bay at that time?
And how deep should we start looking for halibut?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Gambier is LOADED with salmon and halibut hang out in the entrance most times. Very heavy currents in there during tidal flows.

    Which boat are you chartering?

PM me for a few not-so-public details... that's some of my favorite territory down that way!

Oh man, Pybus Bay/Gambier Bay. Your in for a treat down there. Make SURE to check out the Five Finger Lighthouse area for Halibut. Killer shallow spot for some large buttskis.
