Default Kegan Creek / Kegan Cove

I'm headed to Kegan Creek and Kegan Cove for a week at the end of July / early August. I live in South Carolina and this is my first trip to Alaska.

Has anyone been to Kegan Creek? Any advice on the fishing? We're a bit limited on the gear so I'm trying to be as efficient but prepared as possible.

This is a trip of a lifetime and I want to be prepared. Any advice would be welcome.

    Thanks in advance.

More pinks than you can shake a stick at, as well as dollies and cutts, chum, late sockeye, and maybe an early coho or two.

Bring a 4-6wt for the trout and char and throw beads, bring a 7-8wt for the salmon and throw anything pink.

Great info. Much appreciated. You just got me real fired up.

Do you recommend chest waders at Kegan or can you get away with hip waders?

I always go with chest waders to keep your butt dry in the rain.
