    Default Guess the moose

Can you guys help guess the size of the antlers. I took these photos last year just after the end of moose season. Sorry, I know it's more fun when you get to find out afterwards what the actual size was, but I was just hoping for some guesses to see if they are close to what I am estimating.

    Thanks.

I agree with Frostbitten, 45 inches. One that makes you look too long to make the antlers grow. Will be a shooter this year!

I would guess a solid mid 40, def under 50 based on the size of the ears and head compared to the antlers. hard to tell on brow tines but yeah, if it had 3 or more then it'd be on the wheeler headed home

My first guess is 51-52, legal by brow tines. I would have to have a much better look to shoot him on width, as one inch off both sides and he's sub fifty. 2nd guess though, going with 10-11 inch head, rather than between bases, puts him at 45. Same with going 8-9 inches between bases. Seems like thats what I remember mine being.

Too bad we'll never know for sure...as no one was brave enough to go measure them.

Thanks for all of the guesses guys. I do know that he had 4 brow tines on his right. I know it's hard to tell from the photos but it was pretty easy in the binos. When I first saw him I thought he was larger because he was hanging out with 3 other smaller bulls and a few cows. The other bulls were between 30 and 40 inchers which made him look larger at the time. That was a good lesson for me in the future.

I think 52" and at least 3 brow tines on the right side. Definitely a bull for the freezer.

Some areas have that amount of brow tines regulation, 3 in some areas, 4 in others...so I'll go by the brow tines when it's questionable about the inches. Some moose have a bigger body size, making their antlers look smaller, and a smaller body moose makes the antler look bigger. Sure, I guess it looks closer to 50" than 55" (my earlier guess) Figures that you see one like that 'right after' hunting season.

The tines near the palms don't protrude outward, but he's certainly got a spread sitting around 48". Not quite 50.

I think it is wider than most of the guesses on here. I think it is 54-56 inches. I am comparing the photos against a shoulder mount I have on the wall that I know measures 53 3/4. Head sizes and such varies so impossible to tell for sure but I think the bull in the photo might even be bigger than we think. Looks like a big heavy muscled bull in his prime to me.
