    Default Thorne Bay area Guide?

Just wondering if anyone can make a recommendation for a guide in the area. We will be doing a DIY from the 28th of june to july 4th. The guide that the lodge normally uses is going to be unavailable and we were really thinking that it would be nice to go with a pro for at least one day to ensure bringing home the bacon and maybe even learn the ways of the area. Any help would be greatly appreciated because I'm bringing up my pastor for his one and only trip and would like to have some success. I'm no rookie but far from an expert. Thanks again.

    Tom:

You might talk to Gooch who is in Coffman Cove, that's just a short hop north from Thorne Bay.

+1 on going to Coffman Cove. Short and nice drive. My daughter and I went with Big B's charter in Coffman and has so much fun we went back for a second day. You hear nothing but great things about Gooch. I did DIY and am a total rookie with the deep salt and am glad I used a charter, we filled our fish boxes. We did well fly fishing but needed help with the big water. If you're staying with Adventure Alaska you'll have a great time.

Bummer. There's another guy, Lee(?), whose last summer is this summer I think. I found Big B just by asking Jason at Adventure Alaska. He seems to know the people who guide but don't have web sites.

Hoping to make it up there again for third trip next summer. Have fun!

lee harper of coffman cove charters. or if you are in thorne bay, contact Jim Silverthorne of silverthorne charters. Both great guys.
Lee charters out of coffman and we recommend him often.
