Question Source of info for the Marine Forecast?

What source of information do you use when looking at the marine forecast?

Here's another for significant wave height...mess around on the page to tune in the area/time.

Buoy 46081 is already intermittently reporting. Are you kidding me? It will suck to go another season without buoy observations in West PWS. Please don't die on us 'ol buoy.

I got got an IPAD for my bithday and I found an APP called Bouy Data. It's great. Shows weather, tides, maps and marine forecasts all from NOAA. Perfect all in one tool.

A great AP for Iphone that shows wind speed, direction and future forecast is called WIND ALERT and it works in conjunction with Google Earth. It shows current wind for the entire world. For example in the port of Valdez I can get 5 reports on one screen. Whittier has 2 reporting stations.

WX on the VHF works great! Or step out on the back deck. If your hat blows off the wind is blowing, and if your head gets wet it's raining. When I was running my charter I tried every day to make it to the fish. A lot of boats would call off a trip and never even go look at it. I fish lots of nice days when others stayed home due to the forecast!

The word I heard was that with the Feds cutting spending, you can pretty much forget about bouy information. I heard they are not going to fix any of the bouys. This sucks!
