Default Can this be part of the problme with halibut?

I came across this the other day. A lack of food would have a dramatic impact on halibut growth rates as well as the possible cause of mushy halibut. I am no biologist by a long shot but it all starts with a good forage base. A lack of a good food source like herring is not good. http://seagrant.uaf.edu/nosb/papers/2012/homer-zone.pdf

Interesting link, thanks. Crazy that the sound of the hatchery doors opening to let herring out is a dinner bell for the humpbacks. Where's cap'n Ahab when we need him
