Default Hooligan and Herring in yet?

Are the herring and hooligan in the Kenai and Kasilof, or turnagain arm yet? From what I've seen they normally come in around late April-May. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

They start trickling in now but it isn't worth fishing yet.
The closer to June the more fish there will be.
Hooligans come in fishable numbers starting about mid may.

Ive heard of seal and beluga sightings in the lower Kenai river, Can anyone verify? I wonder what they are chasing into the rivers?

The last two years I haven't seen ANY hooligan until the last week of the season in the Kenai.

Turnagain is typically at it's best between Mothers day and Memorial day. So should start picking up in a couple of weeks.
Those that are successful in Alaska are those who are flexible, and allow the reality of life in Alaska to shape their dreams, vs. trying to force their dreams on the reality of Alaska.

If you have a tenuous grasp of reality, Alaska is not for you.
