Default Thumb cove or Bear Glacier

My son and I are planning a Black bear hunt from Seward for his senior trip leaving 11 my till 14 may by water taxi. We have never hunted from the ocean and we are unsure if we should go to Thumb cove, Bear Glacier or somewhere in Day Harbor. If anyone has suggestions or information on expected conditions or things to be aware of before we venture out it would be greatly appreciated.

I would not bother with bear glacier. Thumbs cove is thick, full of brush and steep in there. It will have bears that are huntable and the snow will probably be a concern. So many other options out there. Pm me for some details if interested. Day harbor or some of the other bays and coves to the east would be my first choice.
