    Default 2013 Jim Creek Cleanup!

Here it is folks! May 18th this year, starting at 10AM, we will get together and do a trash pickup out of the Pavilion Parking area. And yes we are providing a BBQ lunch (courtesy of Alaska Valve and Fitting) and will be giving out door prizes (courtesy of a bunch of local companies!) Start at 10, lunch starts at 12 thru 2, then door prizes at 3!
To get to the Pavilion from Anchorage, take the Glenn north to the Knik River Road exit (next exit after Eklutna), 8 miles on KRR, bear left to cross the bridge. 2 miles up take Sullivan Ave on the right (same road Alaska Raceway Park is on) go 1/2 mile past the raceway and the Pavilion parking area is on the right!
If you have any questions about the cleanup, please leave a message at www.alaskaatvclub.org!

There is a faster way off the mountain, might hurt a little though.

Was just there a couple of hours ago, as usual there is a car shot up close to the trailhead, beer cans everywhere, and I came across what looked like it had to have been garbage truck that had dumped a load of trash, it was quite a bit. Ill probably be there with the 6x6, hate seeing trash like that strung all over.

We (Marita Sea & Ski/ Alaska Power Sports) will be out there to support this wonderful organization….Alaska ATV Club! Please show your support and come out to help clean up Jim Creek. We will have our new CFMoto Z6EX Side x Side out in action and both Don Rathbun (Sales) and Lori Price (Social Media Specialist) helping clean up the environment. There will be a live remote radio station, food, door prizes, and lots of riding! Don’t miss out on all the fun!

And it was fun! At least after you got off the highway! Despite the fact that the Winter Storm Advisory was still in effect when we started - About 100 (93+ last time I looked at the sheet) committed ATVers picked up just under 3 tons of trash.
I can't thank the people who showed up enough. Despite the 1/2 inch of snow covering everything, these 100 people brought in almost half the trash that the 400 people last year brought in! Did I say these folks were committed! LOL Thank you everyone!
And Thank You to the companies who donated the door prizes again, Matt Valley for doing the talking and giving them away! And another thanks to Alaska Valve and Fitting for supplying the food again. We may do something this summer, depending on what it looks like when the snow is gone - We will let you know!
