Thread: Kodiak boat repair?

    Default Kodiak boat repair?

Does anyone know of a place in Kodiak to get an inboard motor fixed? I have called and stopped at numerous places and nobody works on inboard engines. Any help with this matter would be appreciated.

You could check with the CG auto shop on base.

I would but I am not in the coast guard, I called every place in town and nobody works on inboards, I am extremely suprised.

It is weird that way in Kodiak regarding boats and boat repair,..a lot of business' will supply the parts
but everyone expects the owner to do it himself,..

It might be a Commercial Fishing thing, stubborn independence and all,...
there are quite a few areas somebody could start up a business, to fill a niche, problem is there are too many
who just want the parts, and will work on their own stuff,......

Have you tried the auto mechanics shops ? I would think they would be able to pull your boat right into the shop, dive into it

You don't have to be. When I was there it was nice to pick up extra work
