Hey guys, anyone been on skilak recently? What's the ice conditions. Any issues dragging a boat across the ice?

last week when it was warm, my buddy that does it often, was too nervous to drag his across. Colder temps this week may have changed conditions though.

I am in the process of buying a lot on Caribou Island so I am curious. Where are you dragging this boat to and
from. Have you been to Caribou Island?
If we all agreed....this would be no fun

There dragging it from the lower boat launch to the open water on the lake outlet. I was there this last Saturday and there was someone towing with a snowmachine a drift boat with 4 guys in it.

Upper Campground has 30 or so feet of ice in front of it. Watched some guys beach their boat on the ice and pull it onto the trailer saturday. Should break up with this warm weather.

When does the ice break up enough to power across? Mid May looks to be warmer, trying to plan a few Black bear hunts and we would like to use a small boat we have.
