Default Umbrella rig how many legal hooks ?

Ok so I picked these up cheap online $10 each they are called 9ers lure they are 34 inches long and have a 24 inch spread. My question besides has anyone tried them is all 14 squids have hooks if I read the regs right I can only have the main trailer rig hooked is this correct?

Correct, I would cut the hooks off them and use them as teasers.

You're allowed 2 hooks for sport fishing, however you decide to rig them.
Those that are successful in Alaska are those who are flexible, and allow the reality of life in Alaska to shape their dreams, vs. trying to force their dreams on the reality of Alaska.

If you have a tenuous grasp of reality, Alaska is not for you.

that's pretty cool right there. I'd troll that thing around rockpiles for kicks, to see if you can summon a giant ling to take a look. Rockfish might steal some plastic though.

Ok thanks, For $10 it was worth a shot I'd never pay the $65 that they cost new (Unless they work) Hard to see but the main squid trails about 10 inches behind the others

Heck, for $10 the squids are worth much more than that. Looks reall cool though.

You might want to run it off a downrigger ball, no hooks, like a false flasher. Above it, troll a big flashy spoon or grub.

I emailed them and they said to try the down rigger but they just use a small weight and troll them in 30-40 foot of water
Here's a link if anybody cares to see what they offer http://www.9erslures.com/education.html

Change the color of the main lure and hold on. We are allowed to have a hook in each lure for winter stripers back east, and the main lure hooks 80-90% of the fish. They KILL stripers, haven't tried em for kings. Good luck.
